Adam Ant – 1954
Stand and Deliver was one of the most popular songs in the 1980s. It was a catchy musical romp that gave Adam and the Ants their first big UK number-one single. We want to know what’s up with the band’s charismatic lead singer, Adam Ant? He was born Stuart Leslie Goddard on November 3, 1954, in London.
Adam Ant was always passionate about music, and he started playing bass guitar in a band called Bazooka Joe during the mid-1970s. Although massive success followed in the early 80s, he quit the band in 1982 quite suddenly.
Ant’s first single as a solo artist also became a chart-topper, Goody Two Shoes; however, he tried other things such as acting, such as his big-screen outing with Sharon Stone in Cold Steel. Adam Ant still performs regularly in London, and in 2013, he also released an album, Adam Ant is the Blueblack Hussar in Marrying Gunner’s Daughter.
