Known widely for his action movies such as Mad Max, Lethal Weapon and Braveheart, Mel Gibson is an actor that people look upto in Hollywood. The actor turned into a producer and director with his next films. He won a Golden Globe Award for directing the film Braveheart, a movie for which he also won the Academy Award for Best Actor. The movie itself won an Academy Award for the best Picture.
The actor later turned into a highly skilled director who directed the 2006 film, Apocalypto. Gibson spent some of the most crucial years of his upbringing in Australia, where he studied acting at the infamous National Institute of Dramatic Art. The actor married his first wife Robyn Moore in 1980 and shared 7 children together. The couple separated in 2006 and finally divorced in 2009 due to irreconcilable differences with the actor paying a divorce settlement of $400 million to his wife. Gibson then got into a relation with famous Russian pianist Oksana Grigorieva with whom he shares a daughter and later with writer Rosalind Ross who gave birth to Gibson’s 9th child, a son.
