The Film That Made Them Stars
Rob Lowe made his debut with the 1983 Francis Ford Coppola film, The Outsiders and became a household name overnight. However, he was not the only one who got a breakthrough in his career with this movie.
The Outsiders is said to have launched the careers of many other big names in Hollywood, such as Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Thomas Howell, and Emilio Estevez. Estevez made up Two-Bit Matthews’, his character, interested in Disney’s creation, Mickey Mouse. He is even seen wearing a shirt with Mickey on it.
