Chuck Schumer and Iris Weinshall – Together Since 1980
Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer has been in a happy marriage with Iris Weinshall for over four decades. The duo met at a Mid-Bay Independent Democrats meeting when they were just in their twenties.
The walked down the aisle in 1980. Weinshall works as the Chief Operating Officer of The New York Public Library, former vice-chancellor at the City University of New York, and she is also the erstwhile commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation.
Schumer and Weinshall keep their marriage strong, despite their crazy schedules, and when they are not together physically, they make it a point to speak with each other on phone in the morning and evening, especially when Schumer is in Washington. The duo shares two daughters together: Jessica and Alison Schumer and are juggling their careers and a family life with great aplomb.
